Sale Details
You're gonna flip your wig when you see this weekend's sale!
This one is INCREDIBLE. One of the swankiest pads I have ever had the honor to set foot in. This collection is going to blow your mind!
If you like Mid Century, the 40's, or just anything vintage.... hang on to your hat and get your tuchus over here this weekend.
BUSINESS FIRST:
This house is TINY. We will only be able to let a small group in a time (no, I don't know how many yet - we'll see how it plays out) - AND we will be limiting your time spent by group... this way EVERYONE gets a chance here. Please be nice about this. It was very hard to come up with a "plan".
How will it work? A list will go outside the home at 9am. DO NOT ENTER THE YARD until you see the list go out. This home IS OCCUPIED - by a former Marine no less, so no funny business. Once you have added your name to the list, you can hang out in your car... go get coffee.... whatever. I will line folks up at 9:45/9:50. Then let it as many as feels safe/comfortable. There will be TWO cash registers to get everyone out quickly - one in the front room and one in the garage.
BRING YOUR IKEA/COSTCO BAGS. This place is jam packed and there is virtually NO holding space. We will have plenty of sold stickers for your large/hard to reach items. It might sound like a pain... but TRUST ME - this sale is worth all of it.
Sounds like one of our awesome helpers is going to try and put up some canopies, so you can stay dry. How nice is THAT?!
What's here?
LIVING ROOM:
Holy moly, where to start. I guess with that amazing Heywood Wakefield credenza/hutch! And... all that's inside. This is a fairly rare piece (I just saw one on FB Marketplace for way more than ours is priced!) and it's in great condition. Inside you'll find Fiesta Ware, Bauer, lots of cute vintage cookbooks, ephemera, adorable bakelite knife set, tablecloths and other vintage goodies. Next is the vintage Grundig stereo console. It has been gone through twice - I am told - but it still doesn't work. However, it's a gorgeous piece of furniture and maybe it could be retrofitted with a more modern system. There are 45 record on one side and it's topped with a vintage style fan, more Fiesta and Bauer and let's not forget that super sexy black panther lamp with the Venetian shade. On another wall you'll find that gorgeous teak cabinet. Currently it is used as tv/media storage, but there are endless possibilities with a piece like this. On top there is MORE Bauer - black and burgundy. And a vintage Zenith radio. Underneath there are 3 speckled Bauer planters. Next to it there is a chrome and glass rolling bar cart - so petite and handy! Loaded up with barware, books and ephemera. The recliner... oh my. She is incredible. Not sure of the year on this, but it does appear to be modern. But it does blend seamlessly into the MCM style home! And it's comfortable! Sitting on it is a vintage Gunnar fashion magazine - SO fun! On the black shelf you'll find another panther lamp, loads more pottery, music books, local dishtowels, Perrier Jouet champagne glasses and ice bucket, seriously - Colonel Sanders "Tijuana Picnic" record, more napkins and cocktail party fun. On one shelf in the built in there are several small planters - some with succulents that might have a little life left! On the mantle there is MORE Fiesta and Bauer - mostly black and green. Crawfish/lobster pottery, incredible Asian inspired lamp with a shapely venetian shade, huge Perrier Jouet dummy bottle, Vegas dice clock and more. Under the mantle is a sweet chrome/glass coffee table. On it are a pair of chalkware Marwal busts, lots of fab coffee table books, bags of vintage matchbooks, vintage carving set from India, Middle Easter knife with carved wood handle and sheath, Seattle World's fair decanter, brass record rack, lots of local and travel ephemera, local vintage ashtrays, local history books. In the corner there is a vintage Admiral tv - not functional - but so pretty. On top there are jazz books, jazz videos and more local ashtrays. Under it you'll find a brass magazine rack with Atomic Ranch magazines, a vintage vinyl ottoman topped with bar tray and bowl FULL of even more vintage matchbooks. On the walls there is lots of wonderful art - you're going to love it!!!
KITCHEN:
I've never had such an incredibly full kitchen with so many amazing things! there is a red chrome and formica table (with leaf) with a vintage Frigidaire stove on it - being used as dish storage - what a great idea! Loads of vintage cookbooks, red and black Fiesta and Bauer dishes, black shelf where that style continues - as well as glassware, mugs, and a super cool lamp made of tea tins with a Venetian shade. On the counter you'll find a literal plethora of awesomeness. More Fiesta, more Bauer, Pyrex, vintage glassware, canister sets, Hamilton Beach mixer, modern blender, vintage Sunbeam Mixmaster, picnic basket, cookbooks, lots of vintage tidbits... Guy Fieri knife set, vases, salt and peppers, soup bowls, coffee cups and Bialetti espresso/moka pot, cast iron - some enameled, dishtowels, vintage placements, omg.... this is insanity. Another shelf full of Fiesta/Bauer teapots, batter bowl, mixing bowls and dishes. Bakelite knife set hanging on the wall. On another counter you'll find MORE colorful Fiesta and Bauer. Fiesta advertisments and just flat out cool stuff. We just added that adorable white metal cabinet with the Asian inspired fiberglass lamp and red and white pottery. On the wall there is more great art, clocks, vintage phone and more.
These folks didn't just have this stuff for decor - they used it! And so should you!
BEDROOM ONE:
Yet ANOTHER amazing Heywood Wakefield piece! Not quite as big as the one in the living room- but believe me - you can fit A LOT in this baby! Right now it's chocked full of Asian inspired vintage decor - including some Hung Far Low memorabilia! Remember that place?! On top of it are some cute wigs, patent leather purses, lamp with a shade made of old slides and a few other fun treasures. There is also a super sweet HW end table - topped with a cute pink vintage phone, books and other goodies. THE BED. Hollywood Regency - INDEED. Hot pink velvet with a thick gilded frame. Comes with the mattress and boxspring too! On the bed there are baskets of accessories, purses, sunglasses, larger sized lingerie, pillows and shoes. At the foot of all this hotness is a vintage cedar chest - loaded with blankets, newer linens, wallets and sewing accessories. Speaking of sewing - there is a vintage shell pink sewing machine tucked away in that cute blonde sewing table with drawers! On that table you'll find higher end perfumes (Dior, Chanel and more), Lancome and other cosmetics, vanity mirrors, trays and more. Above it is a gorgeous etched mirror. We have another shelf full of amazingness. More perfumes, vintage powder boxes, vintage Barbies, Prell radio, 3 good sized PINK Bauer planters and a larger one like them next to the shelf. In the corner there is a super cute vintage style Crosley record player, cool psychedelic record box, yet another pink vintage phone and interesting books. (silver water bottle not included in the sale :))
In the closet there are lots of great goth/rockabilly style clothing in larger sizes. Shoes sizes 10-11 women's. On the walls there are great music posters, mirrors and other cool artwork. Lots of vintage surprises sprinkled everywhere in this house.
BEDROOM 2:
By far, the largest room in the house. And possibly the fullest.
Let's start with the bed. The mattress and boxspring are NOT for sale - a man needs a place to sleep! But the gorgeous headboard is. And everything on it. Makers Mark glasses and ashtray, vintage radio and other business. Next to the bed is a wonderful gray/black MCM end table - topped with a red vintage phone, black vintage phone, cool books and more. (garage door opener also - NFS!). Next to the bed is literally one of the most swankiest pieces around - a vintage cabinet with leopard details and a faux fireplace. Open that baby up and you'll find a stereo (not in working condition - just for looks) and a BAR. How cool is that?! On it is a great ceramic all red Xmas tree, super groovy black and red lamp, vintage photos, vintage style Vornado fan, green vintage phone and more. The lounger. Not vintage, not leather, but oh... is it sexy. This piece will be the centerpiece of someone's room after this weekend! Line 6 amp, lots of stereo equipment, AKAI reel to reel, really pretty vintage dresser with bakelite/metal handles, shelf full of vintage car magazines and more, another shelf full of GREAT movies - dvd and vhs and books on music, true crime, cats and any other subject worth caring about. ;)
Above it there are huge, mounted cattle horns. There is a small closet with more women's clothing and some men's. Some men's shoes and hats. Metal coat rack, huge swordfish, large plastic alligator, Eastman mandolin, lots of super cool artwork and music/movie posters. On the other side of the room there is a tank desk - she's pretty - but heavy- loaded up with various office supplies and misc including a View Master and discs. Some vintage, some new - all useful. Small sheepskin rugs, Steelcase style office chairs, shelf above the desk has more great book, games, photos, bakelite buttons and more. A couple of filing cabinets - two vintage - one newer. Black globe, wood and glass smaller hutch loaded up with MORE FIESTA WARE and topped with a black and red bird lamp with Venetian shade, red bull and other nifty pottery and glass. Next to that is a shelf full of even more great books - same as the other books only now we've got cooking and erotica - I mean... is there anything else we need?
On top of THAT yet another cool Asian inspired lamp and other similarly styled goodies. Along the other wall there is a built in desk/shelf. SO MUCH HERE. Games, more books, JB Big Boy figurine, vintage typewriters, cigar boxes, toy cars, yellow vintage phone, and vintage bric-a-brac. Under the desk there's a cute vintage metal table with folding sides and laminated vintage advertisements. The treasures in here are never ending.
PANTRY:
JUST SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - the hallway is very narrow and in inescapable. Another reason we have to limit entry! But at the end of that hallway - you'll find a pantry/laundry room. Here's where all the utilitarian stuff went! As well as some coolness overflow. Lots of pots and pans (some new), bakeware, storage, small appliances, even more cookbooks, Asian style bowls, James Beard and Galloping Gourmet vintage cookbooks, cute white metal smaller cabinet, iRobot, some bathroom supplies, lots of Corning ware. Even more cool stuff on the walls - so keep your eyes peeled.
GARAGE:
Of course, this isn't just a "garage". This is a hangout space. in here we have a super versatile gray sofa - this will go with almost any decor. Next to it are a pair of rattan triangular end tables, another vintage style fan, cool bubble vase. Above it is one of those "moving" art pieces. Huge General Battery Corporation sign (fiberglass?), floor lamp - and in one corner a non-working vintage BLUE refrigerator. We call this the "red wine" fridge. In the other corner there is a working white vintage fridge - naturally, this is the "white wine" fridge. In the middle is an amazing laminated toile style chrome leg vintage table. On that is a white metal locker style cabinet full of cherry motif dishes, grinder, more vintage pottery - mixing bowls and an amazing chip and dip on a lazy susan. Note Elvis over there. Underneath that table are red vintage coolers, as well as a smaller modern one. Vintage (I think dentist) chair. OMG. She is so cool!! Turquoise and blonde vintage hutch (no glass doors, but who cares?), vintage tins and other vintage "finery". Oh hey - this vintage GE WORKING tabletop stereo system needs a good home - I don't think there will be a problem finding a taker on this piece! Next to it is another vintage gem. Non working, but amazingly cool console tv. I don't think I have ever seen this style! Along the garage door wall you'll find a couple of bright red tool boxes, a vintage fuel pump tester and other goodies. Smack in the middle of the room is the most impressive gray formica top chrome dining table with matching chairs. Legs have a little rust, but the hidden leaf and black piping on the chairs make up for it.
SHED:
In the backyard we've got a little shed. We've filled it with lots of randomness. Vacuums, project tables and the coolest project chairs, candles, fixtures, more vintage phones, bull nose tiles, rolling hair dryer, vintage barber chair, barber cart (or crafter/sewing cart) full of hairdressing supplies (we found another bin of supplies that will go out Saturday am). Vintage medicine cabinet. Misc. weirdness.
Some patio furniture in the backyard.
CARPORT:
Did I mention this home is currently occupied? Please do not enter yard or carport on off hours. Our client would NOT be amused. But, once we open - you've got free reign. Planter pots, ladder, yard tools, old hubcaps, smaller gas grill, Uline skinny locker, really neat metal cabinet with glass door, over the sink storage rack, metal cabinet FULL of chems and household/garden maintenance supplies. Older and well loved Snap-on rolling cart, some hand tools. Definitely worth checking all this out!
That just about sums it up! So much to see and while we've got folks waiting anyway - not much time to see it. PLEASE - FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY - BRING YOUR BAGS, YOUR UMBRELLA AND YOUR PATIENCE.
We are very excited to see you and watch you find your treasures. There is NO way you won't find something you can't live without. Unless you don't like vintage. Or colors.
:)
See you soon!
