Estate Sale in Historic Portland Home!
Finally, ugh! I have managed to find a quiet corner and give everyone an idea of the scope and magnitude of this sale!
It’s being run by family and friends as the home owner would have wanted it.
There are 3 floors FULL of a lifetime of collected items. This was her PASSION.
Massive amounts of PRIMITIVES! But not the usual amount of glass that I’m sure no one’s crying over..The best thing I can say is look at the pictures! You will understand when you see them and hopefully will want to be here!
PLEASE READ
This is the home and collected items of a wonderful woman who was passionate about her things. 45 years of collecting. The sale is being run by family and friends with a little help, which is how she wished it done.
Everything is priced at 25% or less of its value based upon RECENTLY SOLD ITEMS, not asking prices online so that it’s affordable and fair and hopefully will keep things moving along. Please keep cell phone use to a minimum, excessively looking everything up is going to keep people standing and waiting, waiting, waiting. Nothing is overpriced for resellers.
There is no list, no numbers, the address will be posted at 9 AM sharp, sit and stay type situation. Probably about 30-40 people will be allowed in at time given how crowded and full the house is. Please try to keep your shopping time to an hour or so if possible.
No large purses, no backpacks, no shopping bags, IKEA bags etc will be allowed in the door, likewise heavily pocketed cargo pants or coats (its going to be warm so should not be an issue). I’m sorry that a few bad people have to ruin things for all the great ones!) Baskets and hold boxes will be provided. There are cameras and security on sight.
The house is fairly cool, some air conditioning. There are stairs and it’s very crowded inside so probably not a great place for children or dogs, just a thought!
An important thing to mention is if you are purchasing a large item or piece of furniture you will in all likelihood have to return late Saturday or Sunday to remove it given that it’s probably full of stuff and can’t be moved through a crowd easily.
Parking is random, a neighborhood situation.
Now for the good stuff! I will be adding a more detailed description and more and more pictures in the next 2 days, please check back often if you can, there’s a lot to look at!
